What materials can be disposed of in the container?

Many people embark on renovations and consider renting a container. However, they understandably wonder what materials their container can hold. Well, the general rule is quite simple; all types of dry materials are accepted in the containers.

Here is a list of accepted materials:
  • Wood;
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous metals;
  • Drywall or gypsum;
  • Aggregates, such as concrete*, brick*, and cement*;
  • Clean soil* or sand*;
  • Plastics;
  • Roofing shingles;
  • Exterior siding (vinyl, canexel, etc.);
  • Furniture, excluding mattresses*** and sofa beds***;
  • Glass or aluminum/PVC windows;
  • Appliances;
  • Insulation, excluding vermiculite and asbestos-containing Zonolite;
  • Ceramics and all flooring materials;
  • No organic materials.
The materials not accepted are:
  • Contaminated soil;
  • Food or household waste;
  • Tires**;
  • Contaminated wood (creosote or oil);
  • All paints or liquids, toxic or non-toxic;
  • Mattresses*** or sofa beds***;
  • Propane tanks or other gases;
  • Asbestos or other toxic materials.
Note:
  • Concrete, brick, cement*, soil*, and sand* must be treated separately. They cannot be mixed;
  • All tires** deposited in the container will be charged at a rate of $55 each;
  • All mattresses*** or sofa beds*** will also be charged at a rate of $85 each.
