What materials can be disposed of in the container?
Many people embark on renovations and consider renting a container. However, they understandably wonder what materials their container can hold. Well, the general rule is quite simple; all types of dry materials are accepted in the containers.
Here is a list of accepted materials:
- Wood;
- Ferrous and non-ferrous metals;
- Drywall or gypsum;
- Aggregates, such as concrete*, brick*, and cement*;
- Clean soil* or sand*;
- Plastics;
- Roofing shingles;
- Exterior siding (vinyl, canexel, etc.);
- Furniture, excluding mattresses*** and sofa beds***;
- Glass or aluminum/PVC windows;
- Appliances;
- Insulation, excluding vermiculite and asbestos-containing Zonolite;
- Ceramics and all flooring materials;
- No organic materials.
The materials not accepted are:
- Contaminated soil;
- Food or household waste;
- Tires**;
- Contaminated wood (creosote or oil);
- All paints or liquids, toxic or non-toxic;
- Mattresses*** or sofa beds***;
- Propane tanks or other gases;
- Asbestos or other toxic materials.
Note:
- Concrete, brick, cement*, soil*, and sand* must be treated separately. They cannot be mixed;
- All tires** deposited in the container will be charged at a rate of $55 each;
- All mattresses*** or sofa beds*** will also be charged at a rate of $85 each.
